5th gen headlights

so, anyone know if 5th gen headlights, like the projectors they have on custommaxima.com will fit in a 4th gen max, or is it gonna require modding?

you mean the whole headlight or the projectors them selves?

if you mean the whole headlight then some custom work will be needed to make it fit into the 4th gen, it has been done before.

And if you mean the projector, it will also require modding. I don't think anybody has done a projector retrofit with max hids simply because there are better options...Projector's have been put in though.

wouldn't they market it as a 4th gen projector if it fit in both? their sales would double if that were the case....somethign to think about, no?

I think adding the projector portion would be easier (though like I said, there are better projector's to put in). If you try to "jam in" the headlights you're going to have a very large body shop bill. The fenders, hood, bumper and maybe the grill will all have to be cut and molded to fit then repainted.

The 4th and 5th gen area on the front facia which houses the headlamps are completely different. There was a previous thread which discussed this and actually had a pic of a custom 4th gen with 5th gen HID's...it looked horrible.
