ok i did the red clear thing myself and it didnt turn out to well im not very good and that kind of thing but im trying to figue out if i want to redo them or buy 2nd gen altezzas i like them but i dont want the chrome i want the dark one im not sure if they are carbon fiber or not but i like the dark ones i just want a change and i dont wanna go back to stock if possible but i need pics of them on a dark green max if possible but give opinons please

 

I think they look alright on a dark car. Not my favorite, but if you like it, go for it.

 

Most of the guys here don't like altezzas and they will tell you to go with red/clears. But it's all up to you. I went with the gen1 altezzas and I like the look...

 

I have the Gen II Altezzas and love them. I have the gun metal color which is a dark gray chrome color, they also come in carbon fiber and of course regular chrome. eBay was the cheapest price I could find at the time.

 

if you have the money, and can spend it on altezzas, then go ahead man, its your money, me, i'm a bit short on money rite now, and even if i did have that kind of money, i did save it up to be used on an exhaust, suspension, wheels/tires, etc. but its up to you, your money, if you like the altezzas, go for it man! i like Igobuks color, gun metal, for you car, its dark green, i don't think its gonna look good with cf altezzas, i don't like chrome altezzas either (my maxi is white), so gun metal is the way to go, thats jus my suggestion

cool yea im lookin for preformance parts to i dont have all the money in the world but im tired of my car being plain i want something im going for preformance first but my tails are fuQQed up a little so i figure once i get a y-pipe ill go with this by the way i here a lot of bad stuff about custommaxima.com but saw where they were coming up with a ypipe with no bees in the can sound or something should i just go with a budget y or try the other i dont like spending money on parts i could get for cheaper but i also want something reliable and that wont rust or make unwanted noise (bees in can noise)

dude i love these tail lights.I get asked all the damn time at gas stations where ig ot them, people seem to like them to. I also like whne you press the brake at night it makes the cars behind you look like they are on fire.

The leds light up, and turn off alot faster making it looks better. I like them.

 

wow, didn't know they looked so good! hmmmmmmmmmmmm, i take my words back, i mite buy one down the road in the future...... wow.... but im still short on money! i mite do that after i get a set of rims/tires, and suspension and lower my car.

 

i love the altezzas so much that i got a 97 trunk to get them. well.....i like the look of the 97 trunk alot better also. here are some pics of my setup, i have the CF gen 2's cause i really wanted something more like black. the black chromes are too shiny for me and the CF looks very very close to black.

if you have a body kit, then the gen2 will look good, i think, like the flip-flop maxima on this [2nd with photos], but if you dont then they wouldnt look good [same thing like an alum wing on a car with no kit], and the red/clear would look good on any car. i would do red/clear very nicely [since you messed up the first time] and would be very glad w/ or w/o a body kit

Edit: the gen2's heavy/aggressive look matches with heavy/aggressive look of a rear bumper body kit, thats why, the stock one doesnt match them.

 

i have altezza on my white max...its looks good...and they came with my car...

 

the Gen2 looks just nasty! It give the back of the max this angry dont F**k with me look. I love it and will be getting a 97 trunk so I can get some Gen2 CF.

Those tails will intimidate any driver behind you, plus it has the feel of the skyline with the 4 LED circles.


I know how you feel, I first got the max and after a while was tired of looking like everyone else, got some Gen1 (in my sig) there ok in the day but good in the night, but Gen2 were my favorite from the beginning.

you can buy red clears for 97 - 99 maximas too for around 100 bucks i think if you still wanted red clears

ok i just bought rotors and pads so this goes on the back shelf till next paycheck now but anyway yea i like the red clears but i did the reverse lights too but i think im going to just redo them because what happened was me being a moron used super glue to attach the clear to light housing and for those of you that dont know when superglue is heated it turns to a gas and sticks to everything it touches so it looks like one of my reverse lights is foggy when it is the super glue so i messed up but live and learn right? but anyway dammit man i need preformance

I have Gen 1 and I like them. Sometime in the future, I may get the Gen 2's if I haven't bought a new Max or Pathfinder by then.

 

well, i might be old fashioned, but I think Altezzas (at least in my neck of the woods) were played out by ricer civics a few years ago. I believe the red/clears on a 97-99 look MUCH more refined than any altezza gen-whatever can look on the max. You have to respect the car's aesthetics, go with the lines of the car.

 

I love my altezzas and I will defend my choice...but for everyone who wants to compare our altezzas to civics...this is all I have to say:

my boy has the 2nd gen alts on his green max and i have to say they look pretty good. i dont like the first gen to much chrome but the 2nd gen is pretty decent.

 

i dont know if the black chrome or the CF would look better but first im gonna go to warpspeed and grab a ypipe first thank you guys

 

yes it is tru that a lot of people on the org dont like altezzas and on top of that i have a lot of friends that are very anti-altezza. but i have heard nothing but good coments on my 2nd gen altezzas. i think they look great, i have the carbon fiber and love them, check out my cardomain for pictures. i say to go for it and buy them... my $0.02.

 

im gettin quite a few PM's concerning the trunk swap lol. i know im not the 1st person to have done this but doesn anyone know how many, or who else have done this. i dont mind but i was jus suprised to see i have like 5 PMs so far.

yes you can do the trunk swap mod, thes four bolts holding the trunk in place on the two arms, so its two bolts on each arm. disconnect all the lights, un screw the four bolts, and its off. careful its kinda heavy so get a good grip so it doesnt fall when u take off the bolts. i cant give a write up on how to swap the key holes cause i kinda forgot how everything looks like. you need to swap the trigger arm too. its easy tho, you will figure it out in like 5 mins. then swap out lights on car and on trunk and put in your gen 2's or red clears.

***suggestion*** buy the bottom latch just in case. mine didnt keep the trunk shut so i had to get the bottom latch from the other car so it locks shut. my trunk cost 120 bux btw.

 

hahaha aint this the truth.. i love my gen2 and every that sees them besides some max owners love them. i love how the look and they r way more visable at night then my old tails. did i mention how nice they looked. hey chinox nice car

I feel that many people on the org dont like the Gen 1 Altezzas because first of all there are soo many other cars out there that have altezzas that look very similar and has the same style as the Gen 1s for our car, so the goal of not looking like the others and having the clean look is shot out the window.

The Gen 2s dont get the same disliking because they look very different its still altezzas, but with a nice and very appealing twist. I still love my Gen1, but will get some Gen2 since no one around here has Gen2, and back home in atlanta friends and my girl tells me she's seeing more Tezzas (Gen1) on maxs, so time to bring the Gen2s
