For those haunted by the CEL 0505 code...

I did a search and got some answers. My CEL light came on about 3,000 miles ago and finally did a check on it last week. I got the 0505 code and the Haynes manual said there was no problem. I cleared it and the the CEL tripped again (stupid orange light.) I checked it and got the same, 0505.

For those who cannot search you may want to check your O2 sensors. The ecu may not have picked it up right away, so best to do is go to autozone (stated by phenviyl) and get it checked out there.

There was a TON of the same threads asking about it, and all people could reply was "there's nothing wrong, dont worry about it."

Just a heads up to avoid more threads being created on the same topic.

First off - I'm extremely jealous of your car.
Now that I got that out of my system - are you saying that via the self-diagnostic, all you got was 05 05 but via the autozone OBD-II Scanner - they were able to pull more codes?

Thank you sir.

I only did the self-diagnostic since Im so booked w/school now. I will wait until the CEL trips once again, then Autozone will get my attention. Im believing that it may be an O2 sensor somewhere.

can a bad o2 sensor mess up your idle or when you first start up your car? like it just dies on the spot. when running it is fine unless you come to a stop or stroll then the rpm drops dramatically?

Unlikely. Your problem is most likely a sticking/bad IACV.
