Anyone have an idea what could be causing this noise?

Fairly simple to describe, and it just started a couple days ago. I replaced my knock sensor, but forgot to plug the EGR solenoid back in (I was about to clean the solenoid to get rid of the code ).

Plugged it back in, now the car runs SO MUCH BETTER. But, when I start the engine cold (not just the first time, it happens if I drive and stop, then restart while it's still cold), it makes a noise that sounds like when you try to start the car when it's already running. It's not contstant grinding/squealing like when you try to start a running car, but it's a very similar noise that stutters for about a second or two. I heard brief belt squeal once, but only once. The noise goes away once the enigne heats up to normal running temp.

Any ideas? Thanks.

 

I have something similar, but it's only a squeek for 1/4 of a second. I find it odd since my starter is no more than 3 months old.

it could be losen belt.
i had the same problem, so i did the starter regreasing, but didn't fix anything.
but after i tightened the belt, it never made the sound again.
