ECU Code 0201
ECU Code 0201
Hello Everyone,
I have a completely stock 99 Maxima with an automatic transmission. I know, I know, I'll try to buy a manual transmission next time
My ECU threw 0505 (No Failure Recorded/Detected) so I just reset it. A few days later, it threw 0201 (Ignition Signal Circuit) while downshifting on an incline. The engine hesitated during the downshift and that's exactly when it threw 0201. I reset it again and the same thing happened the next day -- the engine hesitated during a downshift on an incline and it threw 0201. It seems like everytime I'm driving up this incline and the car downshifts, the engine hesitates a bit then the ECU throws 0201.
On my ECU, the sticker says something about idle speed. I'm not sure what position the ECU screw was in before I reset the ECU the first time. I was wondering if the ECU is throwing 0201 because I have the idle speed on the wrong setting. Sound plausible? If so, what should the idle speed be set to?
Thanks,
cely
