Bending antenna

Hey everyone,

I don't know if this subject has been touched on, but has anybody modified their antenna to where it doesn't bend? After so much driving on the freeway, my antenna is starting to bend out. It works fine, (goes all the way up and down) but it just looks kinda funny when all the way up. Can you shorten the antenna? Will shortening the effect the reception? Has anybody seen the antennas on the older mercedes, how the upper half is like some sort of black plastic, i guess to prevent from bending?

Maybe your antenna has been "bent" by something other than highway speed driving and the wind... you can just replace the mast - will cost 15-20 bucks from your local parts store.

See here: http://www.carstereohelp.org/DoItYou...ssanPwrAnt.htm
for instructions.
