Not to bad but cheepie heavy wheels, and they bend easy. Least my friends did. And I would say go for 18's. 17's just look kinda small on max's

i currently own motegi rims, but i wouldn't recommend it.
It's heavy, and bends easily. one of my rim is bent and losing
air constantly. So i have to feed air to the tire every tank of gas.

you seen those forged Rojas on ebay for the maxima? polish lip and black in color. im going for those, since they are fairly light, they are strong(forge) and not to expensive-$780 or so.

How much do the Motegi weigh?
They look good, but I would consider the weight.

i got the 18" motegi ff7, they weigh i believe it was 21lbs, my tires never leak, haven't had any problems with them bending, and i think they look bad as hell on my max!
and how exactly would you have a problem with the rims bending? if you do something dumb enough to bend them in the first place, then you'll probably bend whatever rims you get.

Are you sure the Motegi's only weigh 21lbs for 18"?
I find this hard to believe, because they are not forged.

Anyone else with facts on them?
Just curious.

well civics can roll on really any rim so that shouldnt be a reason not to buy it cause u've seen one or 2 civics ridding on them. but i saw u go 18's or bigger if u want to buy rims. if u want 17's u might as well just buy the 5th gen maxima wheels

jesus, sorry to hear. And I thought my cheapo ADR's were bad. If I only had the dough, I'd be wearing forged wheels and quality rubbers. Who is that as your avatar anyways? I keep seeing her face every so often, and she looks very friendly.

motegi are not the best looking wheels, they are way overplayed like the evo is now, esecially in the civic, g20, and people who just need wheels cause their stock ones are ,messed up. go for some oz or mille miglia. You need to remeber that you are dropping $750 - 1500 on a set of wheels, make sure it is somehting you truley want cause you will go back and change them later. I had a set of cheap adr's and i always wanted mille miglia. So after i bought them, and had them for a while i went ahead and bought the wheels i always wanted.

just what you really wanyt, do not go the cheap way out. Make make sure you getyour offset right.

Why do ppl obsess so much about weight, these cars are daily drivers! I don't see ppl taking out their seats and interior pieces to drop weight or their AC units, subs, stereo's and speakers. Take a dump before you drive to save 2 lbs! I mean come on relax on the weight thing, wheels are all personal taste thats why they make so many different kinds, but testament from users as to quality, durability etc is useful!

Actually I have taken out my sub box that weighs 85lbs. My wheels are 26lbs a piece. The wheel weight effects gas milage and so does a speaker box, also your stopping/ handling abilities. Plus if it comes to performance you try to make gains when ever you can. My wheels are heavy so Im looking to get some new one eventually.. probably a set of volk

Since we are talking about wheels, how you read the offset? What is the difference from a 48 to a 38? What would be a good size lip?

i love the way black rims look (especially on dark colored/black cars)

... only when they aren't moving.

if you see a car with black rims moving it just looks like they're missing hubcaps and have some pos factory rims meant to have hubcaps.

that's probably why they invented the chrome lip thing, so people "in the know" would know that you have nice rims when you're moving .. who knows.

i like them, but i wouldnt buy them. silver all the way

I like the style and the way they look but i havent had any experience with motegi so im not gonna bash them. Hey if u like them get them who cares what other people think about it. If weight is a issue get something different and same style. Just my .02.

Said like someone who has heavy evo's.

Listen, the big deal about "wheel" weight (and not necessarily other stuff on the interior, as you suggested) is this: Basically, for every pound of weight that you drop in the wheel, it is like 10lbs. in the cabin. Therefore, if you were to get some heavy wheels like 27lbs. or so(what your evo's weigh?).....over stock you are about 7.6lbs heavier on each wheel(stock ones are 19.6lbs). That translates to this:
7.4lbs per wheel x 4 wheels = 29.6lbs total
29.6lbs x 10lbs in the cabin = 296lbs. total.
That is like you have two other people with a combined weight of 296lbs in the car with you. Tell me that does not make a difference? Does dropping a seat out help or taking a dump help.....prolly a little, but not enough to really matter unless you are dragging on the strip.
Does dropping 296 lbs out of the car help.....you bet!

Does that answer your question of why I am always asking about wheel weight?
