You mean the dimmer ? I'm assuming that's what you mean, when you turn the gauges up to full brightness, it makes the clock on the radio brighter. If you've done a new radio or added extra lights somewhere, your circuit may be at the limit and when you go to the maximum setting it pops the fuse. You may also have some frayed wiring behind the radio or cluster.

ok here is the whole situation... the other day i went to cut the wires for my 10 disk changer cause i dont have it anymore when i cut them it liek surged and a couple fuses went out the wires went to the hot coming out of the stereo and it was just grounded right by the stereo, i put in new fuses but now that stero works fine but the gauges dont i have glow gauges if thats any help. anyways i can turn the roll switch thing about half way to turn the needles and stuff up and then it blows... why is it doing this they worked perfecetly fine before. mabye iacadently hit another wire and freyed it or what? any sugestions on what to do

Well when you cut the wires, the only way it would surge is if you cut a couple of wires at once and shorted them. If you blew a couple of fuses that's probably what happened and either a couple of wires melted together and they'll short once you turn up the voltage high enough to pop the fuse or the dimmer switch itself maybe damaged. See if you can get a friend's switch to test and see if it still pops fuses. I would suggest tracing ALL the wiring from where you cut it to where the fuses are and all the wires it touches in between.

Gauge Iluminator Question

Hi I Bought My 99 About A Month Ago, And When You Try To Dim The Dashboard It Works, But Even When It Clicks The Dome Light Will Not Go On, However The Dome Light Works When Door Is Open And With The Switch On It. What Is Wrong?
