competed my 5th gen motor swap!!!!

well its in and running awesome! i put a DE-K motor in out of a 2001 max (didnt use the VI though) and i love it. it has the same feel as the VQ30DE although it seems to have a little more pull up top. anyway i will try get some quarter mile times up for everyone as long as the track doesnt get rained out again. (tried to go up yesterday) by the way a friend on this site is going to host some pics of things i had to do to make it work so look for them in the next week or so

oh yeah...and dont ever buy a clutch from unorthodox!!!!!!!!!!! i put in a kevlar windowed solid hub clutch kit and it chatters so bad that it feels like your in an earthquake. i put a new flywheel in and i know its installed correctly so i know that it is either defective or just a sh** ptoduct. i guess i will go w/ ACT or Exeddy because i cant live w/ this one. a waste of 450 dollars kinda hurts.

Did you run into any probs when swapping? This is going to be my winter project (I said to h3ll with the VQ35 swap) Who needs a VQ35 when you got a VQ30 with boost in the future?

i am going to have another member by the name of vsamoylov post the picks for me. for those of you who dont believe me kiss my a**. those who want to see it give me about a week or so and you will get detailed pics on everything. i promise just be patient. by the way the motor swap was easy. i had to use the rear valve cover off of the VQ30DE motor on to the DE-K because i wasnt using the VI.i also had to fabricate a vacuum harness because the block on the DE-K engine has a coolant tube underneath the intake manifold that connects to the aluminum coolant passage for the 2 cylinder heads.other than that it was simple. for those of you thinking about swapping motors for HP gains dont do it. my car seems a little faster...maybe two tenths in the quarter. the reason i put the DE-K motor in is becuase i got caught in a flood and my motor blew in my 97 maxima. i got an engine from a 2001 maxima for 300 dollars. if you have a perfectly good VQ30DE then dont do the swap thinking you are going to make alot more ponies. that is unless you are going to use the VI.

PICS VERY SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!! BE PATIENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
