How much to get Pearl White Bumper Painted?
How much to get Pearl White Bumper Painted?
Just getting a ball figure what you guys paid for to get your front end bumper painted pearl white? I know that I should go ask around but im 800miles away from home and once i get winter break ill chk around once i get back home. But Id appreciate it if for those who have done it to list how much they payed to get it painted. Thanks
I did a front end conversion from a 96 to a 97. Had the bumper painted at the body shop at the dealer I worked at for $150 IIRC. I thought it was a good deal, but the color of the Pearl White didn't quite match the rest of the body. It's a tough color to get to match exactly.
$175 Front
$175 Rear
$175 Rear

A good body shop should be in the range of $300 just to refinish it. If you need any body work or prep time on the cover, expect to pay a little more.
Pearl is a three stage paint and is more expensive to spray then your normal two stage. The key to matching pearl colors is in the pearl coat. Sometimes you need up to 4 coats of pearl to get the yellowish pearl color to match, sometimes it's only two.

depends on which shop you take it to. If you take it to Maaco, you won't spend as much, but you'll get a 1/2-assed paint job which you'll keep having problems with. If you go to a dealer-recommended paint shop, you mich pay a bit more, but you're getting a quality paint job.
I agree, Pearl White is one of those colors that you have to get it right. There's parts of my Max where my brother got into accidents a while ago, and the repainted areas look diff. than that of the original paint.
