Difference between cali/fed spec

Hey guys, i just found out my car is a cali spec...i heard that this is a bad thing. what is the difference between cali spec/fed spec? I am guessing it has to do with emissions.

so, do they restrict airflow or something? or are they just more things that could possibly go wrong?

you have an extra catalytic converter to. One right after the exhaust manifold and one down the way.... Nothing sucks like 2 cats.

I thought it had 3 precats and an extra 02 sensor.
