Y-Pipe FINALLY INSTALLED, SMOKE FROM UNDER HOOD NOW!

i just had my y pipe installed, when i drove off, it was okay for a few blocks, than i just put pedal to the metal and then there was smoke coming from under the hood, and my engine wasnt overheating or anything....when it was installed, the shop put a little bit of this blue goop on the ends of the y pipe, i was thinking maybe that was burning off? but i drove for 20 minutes and it still kept smoking, am i right? it could be the goop burning off or what? any suggestions? i helped with the install, and it just bolted right on with no problem after removing the stock y pipe....what could have gone wrong?

Budget one's and I'm sure the others are the same are painted (don't know why) for cosmetics I guess, it's just the paint burning off! No need to worry, just enjoy the power bump!

Yea it's probably just the oil residue left on the pipes.

yeah, there must be a coating on the y-pipe. on most new exhaust parts, they put a coating of this crap on to keep it from corroding. When i drove new cars straight off the truck when i worked at chrysler, they smoked like you wouldn't believe until it all burned off. people must have looked at me and wondered why a brand new 300C was smoking that badly.

yeah don't worry about it, mine smoked a little after I put mine on, just something in the pipe that burned off in an hour or so.
