for those who have a 5spd. how long does it take for the transmission to be fully warmed up after you start driving in the mornings?

 

What do you mean warm up the transmission ??? The engine takes a few minutes from 3 - 7 depending on outside temps.

 

well after my engine is warmed up, my tranny still feels cold. whenever i shift, i can feel roughness until about 15 mins after of driving, the shifting becomes a lot smoother.

 

I use Seafoam in the tranny and it's like new! j/k

Use synthetic fluid and mine shifts easy even when it's cold.

 

Hmm, I've never felt any difference in smoothness regardless of the temperature.

I go so easy on it when it's cold that i can't say how long it takes to loosen up, but it definitely is clunky first thing. I spend appreciably more time, especially, going from first to second, to avoid roughness.

 

yea my first to second is really rough in the mornings. I notice when i shift to second really slow , the notchiness is not soo bad. Sometimes i just go to 3rd, and down shift to 2nd, and no problem. Is this alright tho ?

 

yeah, thats exactly what i do. so i guess everything is ok. but i will be doing a tranny flush and replacing it for synthetic. i got my tranny rebuilt and who knows what kind of fluid they put in my tranny.
