Shifter Short Throw

I have a short throw shifter in my car. I recently tightened it and it was shifting hard so I loosened it. It was fine for a few days but now it feels tight again and it makes a squeky noise when I shift. Do you think the shifter tighten itself up or is something eles wrong? Should I make it looser? Please respond

i dunno it shouldn't really tighten it self up especially in a few days man. I think soething might be wrong. Try to loosen it up again and see if it does it. It might be a bushing or something i dunno. didnt have any problems with mine at all.

Thats B&M,

It could tighten up,I guess. Get back under there and check it out. Its not hard.
You should use a locknut(with teflon in it) and apply threadlock.
That should keep it from moving around. Trust me, the last thing you want is for the nut to work its way off and the shifter seperating from the linkage,.....I speak from experience.
