drastic help plz! : car is dying!

Ok im not sure off the back of my hand how long this has happening. But when i start it and leave right away my car always shook in the front after the first few stops like it wanted to die, and sometimes felt like it had no power AT all even when i would push the gas to the floor hoping it would kick in so i wouldn't be rear ended.

Now its starting to get colder and my car sat over night, i was running late so i started it up and left...shook like usual but actually died! I waited a few mins started it back up and put it back in drive and it died right away, did this over and over intill i started it up and let it warm up for about 10 minutes.

Just had my tuneup bout 2 months ago, brand new y-pipe 2 1/2 inch piping to a flowmaster 40 series and a k&N cone, hate to see this happening The only code i am throwing is a mass air flow code (Forgot which one but i was told it wasnt anything serious and its obviously because of the cone w/o the stock intake [no slot to stick that sensor in.])

I seriously dont know why this is happening, my high idle is working...when i start it up usually about 1500 and i think comes down to 800 before i move it..thats my rough estimate without checking because i dont have any time right now. ANY HELP WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED! I'm 17 and my parents are flipping out that i ruined my "first good car". 97 at pearl white se :[

Well, if it's throwing the MAF code, that's a pretty big problem, buy that and your problems should be fixed.
www.car-part.com I got mine from there for 45 shipped, car runs like a dream now.

That would only result in the engine not revving past 2-2.5k.

A bad MAF will make the car turn off, or seem like it was misfiring, almost as if it was running out of fuel.

The mass air flow sensor is definitely plugged in, Its that other little sensor that is jammed in that tube, and since my intake is jus the box w/ the little accordian to the maf box then straight to the cone. So yes that other small plug is just chillin, but i was told it never would cause a problem :X

plug it back in and see what happens...what could it hurt? I've actually had that happen to me once....it wasn't on a maxima though...but same results. Replaced the MAF sensor, and it fixed it right up. Don't laugh....but I used to drive a 1986 v6 camaro and that's the car that had the same problem as your maxima is having right now. It was my first car right after i got my license hehe. Oh the memories...
