power source for leds in vents...
You're best bet is to just get a 12v power source, like your cigarette lighter, and tap into that, put a fuse and switch on the system and that's it.
If you want to do it even better, run a wire straight from the battery although I think the cigarette light should be fine as LED's don't consume much power.

The cig lighter is not required and just complicates everything. Just buddy off the nearest thing. The clock or hazard lights switch or Rear defrost should be totally adequate. This is a real rough diagram.

Realistically thats the easiest way to do it(Ignore the dashes. They are just place holders) R stands for resistor. If you run through one of the local switches it will be great cause the LED's will only be on when the lights are on. Just out of curiousity, why would you want to light up nasty dust filled vents?

You will be able to put it on a switch. But this switch will only work if the lights are on. If you want to be able to have the LED's on w/ the lights off you should buddy off the ignition power that the clock uses.
