"No such thing as a 99 SE-L"

I was in such disbelief when I heard the parts guy from Mike Pallone Nissan say that, that's not true is it? From what I gathered, they made the 99 SE Limited cars later on in 99. I asked to see if they had any badges for the 99 SE-L maxima, and he's like, "I've been following Nissan ever since the 70's and never heard of the SE-L here in the US. Maybe it's something in Japan but not here."

I knew he was wrong, but I left. Is this guy just misinformed? I want to find a badge pretty bad.

Dan

ive seen a few non-org member SE-L's ... somehow i don't think these 40 y/o + family guys go out of their way to import japanese badges, hell I doubt they even know they have a special edition of the SE.

there is most definitely an SE-L

I knew it, what a misinformed man (retard). Anyone know where I can get one of the badges? Better yet, anyone who has an SE-L wanna give me their badge?

yeah i don't get that either but SE-L wasn't a maxima only thing. there is sentra SE-L's and Altima SE-L's basically it was nissans way of getting rid of there extra cars.

Yeah, well I mean the badges look so cool (esp. on my color) so if I stumbled upon somewhere to buy it I'd go for it.. even though I don't have the SE-L.. I guess what I'm thinking of doing is kinda gay, oh well, probabaly won't find one anyway.

Why not just put an "SE" (or whatever your car happens to be) where the SE-L would go? Putting an SE-L badge on a non SE-L would be almost as bad as putting on a GTR badge.

so u pay extra for guadges, floor mats and some rims that are kinda small which most people swap out anyway for bigger/better wheels. how much of a difference in price is there anyway?

when I bought mine the price was equivalent to another 99 at the place... I just liked the color of this one better

Easy on us 40+ guys, my man. I understand what you're saying, but some of us are very well informed and have a few more years on the block following cars than some of the younger guys who are still learning.

oh i know, i didnt mean to offend ... but you do know what i'm saying. it's probably true that a vast majority are not "in the know" if you know what i mean. i know quite a few older gentlemen that are quite knowledgable, and seek advice all the time

No problem, younger brother, I get your meaning. Just remember, some of us old heads still keep in touch. Shamefully, many do not I hate to say.

Why not put a "turbo" sticker all over the car? Or nitrus stickers? I heard special badgings add more horses...to the ego of the car owner.

dont u already know that anyone who works for nissan knows the least about them (besides a small percentage) and they just like to sound so smart.

this salesman asked me if my car was an altima, and i asked him what he thought it was, and he is like, im pretty sure its an altima, im like no, its a maxima and then he goes "oh i should have known, the hood is biggerr."

He's right, and I have been driving an invisible car manufactured from the same company that made Wonder Woman's invisible plane.

We also get SE-L floor mats that cost 40 bucks more than the regular ones... I had to buy some after my dog ate last pair that I left in garage after washing them.

Beg to differ. I have worked at 3 different Nissan dealerships, and for the most part the guys were knowledgeable about their prduct. The difference comes into play when the salesperson doesn't believe in the product. I tried to go sell Honda, and I couldn't sell one if i was giving it away...

Come on, it's not like there's much of a difference at all between the two cars.

Ask him to look up floormats for 1999 or gauge cluster. They will be two versions. SE and SE-L.
