how to plug the power source into the dash for reverse glow gauges

for a 4th gen... it came with a red wire and a black wire and a black wire with the end shaped like a fork...what do i do with the third wire?

instructions..nnect all the cords on the panels of electronic cold light dashboard with the cords of starter and all swirches and connecters. After that, check the power circuits in the central control station and the cold light dashboard. plug the hollow master seat of the transfer connector on the end of the red intsrument card into the exclusive receptacle located on hte left lower side of the dashboard framework, then lock the grounding metal sheet on the end of the coffee color card on the grounding screwre connect the power wire of the cold light dashboard and starter into the the central control station by securing the starter first. the power wire of the starter can be pulled from the dashboard framework. insert the inverters in order according to the circuits of the cold light dashboard and install the inverter switch in the dashboard framework

OK, I don't know what the hell those instructions are talking about... anyway. The red wire goes to a +12v source, the black wire goes to a ground source and the third wire with the fork plugs into a small transformer that should have been included and that in turn can be connected to a switch.
