Over 233,000 Miles
Don't worry I had a 1988 Maxima with over 233,000 miles on it and the only reason that I don't still have it is because I traded it in for my 97 but I'm sure If I didn't trade it I would still be enjoying it. Actually I kinda miss it but once you get a newer Maxima you'll never go back to an older model.

I wouldnt worry too much about the milage as long as you maintain the car. Unless you were trying to sell it. But if your into the car for the long haul, just maintain her properly, and she will will be good to you.
I have a 91 Honda Accord EX with 173,000 and wont get rid of her. I wouldnt even use her as a trade for my 98 Maxima GLE.
She is good to me. My 98 GLE (also pebble beige) has 55,000 on her. I expect she will run well into the 200,000's as long as I take care of her.

I just hit 126k yesterday and still going strong. My father's cousin has a 92' Maxima with over 225k on it. Sounds and runs like it has only 5-k on it. If you are easy on them and treat them how you would like to be treated, they will last a pretty long time.

don't worry about the engine..
The Maxima engine is considered one of the best, probably most reliable and well built V6's out there, it has been that way for a number of years now... I've heard of high milage Maxima's, I have 102k, and I don't worry about the engine one bit.. I've seen ads for 4th gen's with around 180k miles and heard from some people they've seen some with 200k+.. it's just that the car is not old enough for anyone to drive 300k miles on it.. though it's probably possible. There are 3rd generation owners with 220k+ and driving like it's 50k miles old. I believe there is one guy who claims somewhere around 360 on his 3rd gen. The engine is the last thing to worry about, now the auto tranny and other stuff...

Very azamed to read the figures
I'm truely amazed by the milage figures everyone has posted. Boy! it gives me confidence and i started liking my maxima even more.
I had only heard such figures for Benz uptill now. My max has 52k on it and i plan to keep it for a while now.

Re: don't worry about the engine..
I have 171,000 and it runs great. I have the original transmission too. My car pulls beyond 100 quite well. The valves don't make any noise, and the exhaust studs are still in good shape. I've been very happy with the VG. It's a great engine.

Bought with 200k....
Although I can't tell exactly how many miles my 95 GXE has on it.. I know it's over 200k. I've put 25k on it since I bought it with no engine problems whatsoever. I've replaced a belt and done oil changes, but that's all Max has ever asked for. Keep up with the regular maintenance and you'll be fine.
