ah crap... gauge lights dont work

so, just messing around, i pushed my car down a hill and put it into gear (its a 5spd) sounded like it wanted to start but didnt, so when i got to the bottom fo the hill i tried to start it and was greeted by a wonderful screeching wound instead of the normal starter noises, so i pulled the keys out and tried again, started right up, BUT, no gauge lights... is that some sort of security feature or did i just somehow blow a fuse? someone please help, i dont like driving blind.

So you for fun pushed your car down a hill and tried to pop the clutch?

what gear did you put it into, the fact that it didnt start up after you pushed it down a hill then pop it in gear sounds like you may have done some damage.

check your fuses, that most likely is the cause of your problem, hopefully thats all it is?

I cant help but ask,why off all things to do did you choose to push your car down a hill then pop it in gear??

did you check your dimmer?

in one of my finer automotive moments i spent half and hour trying to figure out why my dashlights were out. went through everything i could think of except the dimmer, my gf had managed to turn them off that day somehow.

good luck

you can start a 5 speed that way, I did one day at work when I left my lights on at work.

How much speed did you have? when I did it, I had about 5 miles per hour going, put it on first while still moving, came off the cluctch completely, it kinda jerked a little but fired right up.
