running into problems taking apart console

I'd like to replace the 194 bulb that lights up the PRND21 part of the console. I got the dash piece around the shifter off and looked into the 'box' containing the lights. I see the two clips on the side and the one on top and bottom. There isn't much space to work with and I don't want to crack anything. Tips? Suggestions? Just tear it open =) ? Thanks

Vad3k, you got manual? the autos have a dash around the stick that tells you wht gear you on. i think it goes somthing like:
P (parking)
N(neutral)
R(reverse)
D(drive)
2(2nd gear) and then
1(1st gear)

i think thats the order. And they light up.

sorry kbmaxima, this didn't help ya. In fact i did like to know how to do that too. I mite think of doing that aswell, after im done with changing my gauge lights...
