i know the dodge has 200 ponies, but remeber the nissan is a peformance engine, its made for speed, the dodge is a piece of ****, even look at the price between the two, maxima 5spd can do 6.8 if the driver knows what he is doing. just go somewhere and practice your 0-60, listen to the engine.

According to Motor Trend, a 2001 Stratus R/T with 200 hp and a 5 speed does 0-60 in 7.7 and 1/4 mile in 15.7/89.4 mph. Our 5 speeds do around 6.6 but I'm not sure of our 1/4 times.

Get a good launch and walk him.

The Max auto is running just about what the Stratus is running with the 5speed. You'll destroy him.

Eclipse?
Doesn't the 2001 Stratus have all the V6 Eclipse powertrain?
Maybe it's 2002. I remember hearing that somewhere.

Um...tell that PIECE OF **** mopar lover to get over the fact that his car doesn't have the engine that doesn't, and I quote, "Revs like no other engine this side of a V8 Ferrari". I mean come on with 200 HP and a 5 spd they can't even get the piece of **** in the low 7 second range???? But Nissan can take a modest 190HP and turn that into 6.6. Thats a Nissan for you, and the former is a DODGE for ya! Just my 2cents.

That may be. I've a 00 Sebring and it has a Mitsu 2.5 liter engine; supposedly the same powerplant that was used at some point in the 3000; Chrysler has used Mitsu engines for some time.

That's the way I feel about Dodge making the Viper with a V10. The Lotus Esprit of the 80's was fast as hell with an Inline 4 with a turbo. Dodge is corny for making a V10 to out run everyone.

Dude, don't worry. When you race him don't think he will beat you. I used to drive an LHS for a company I used to work for. The LHS was supposed to have I think 221HP and the car was a dog. You have the torque to get off the line quickly and the HP to get from 30 to 90 with no problem. Just take a practice run if it mean a lot to you to beat him. In my racing days, practice runs always helped me. Just don't floor it because your tires will spin.

Stratus
The R/T stands for Road/Track. and yes, the stratus R/T has the Eclipse GT engine, 3.0L V6 making 200 hp. published times for both cars are high 15s... i dont think you will have a problem beating him... unless he is alot better driver than you are.
