TechnoSquare 95/96 ECU UPDATE! Rev Limiter Found.

To all:

Hey guys!
How's everything in the 4th Gen world? i've been gone for a while-- but i still havent forgotten you all!

GOOD NEWS!

TechnoSquare Inc. has found the Rev Limiter on the 95/96 ECUs and is now offering it with their current ROM board upgrade.

The ECU upgrade will change A/F ratio, Ignition Timing, and now will, with your consent, they will change the rev limiter to 7000 (stock rev limit is at 6300) (signature of waiver necessary). This is great for those with SC and/or Turbo applications..

For those Previous TechnoSquare customers, this Rev limiter upgrade is only $50.00, all you have to do is send in the ECU.

For those who would like to purchase this ECU upgrade, for a limited time offer, they are doing another Maxima.org Group Buy pricing for $400 + shipping/handling. (Retail price is $595.00). This sale will end Dec 15, 2004.

Well, for more information, please contact BRIAN @ technosquare. He is my good friend and will treat you well. (Danny has left the company)

Great news, now I might consider getting an upgraded ECU

I wonder if we can tweak the A/F ratio with a SAFC and not have the TS ECU freak out like the JWT ones do.

So they aren't upping the price or anything? Will they up the rev limiter to more than 7000rpm? If so then there is absolutely no reason to buy JWT anymore.

Any body have experience with how much downtime there is?

seeing Chebosto's name i thought this was going to be an old thread. Guess not.

So what are the advantages of the TS over the JWT performance wise? I remeber a dyno if the 2 and one had better mid range while the other had better top end, but i dont remeber which was which.

I remember the comparison too, I think they were within like 1hp. The conclusion was that aside from the rev limiter the were almost exactly the same. So now you can pay the same (with the non sale price) and get the same thing, but within the week rather than the 2 months JWT takes.

So, they only have a 7k limiter when the stock is like 6.6k? Will they offer any others or not? Yes it's been asked but no one answered.

So technosquare now has a supercharger application too, (or have they had one for a while?) Thinking i might need this and ditch my BRAND NEW SAFC2.

Well thats the advantage of JWT. They have a S/C program where you can program where you can add Z32 Injectors (370cc or 555cc), Z32-MAF, S/C program, and 7200...the stock is 6,600 btw...

Hey, if you send in your ECU now to JWT, it wont take long..its there "off" time..I jsut sent mine out a week 1/2 ago and its in the mail gettin here tomorrow the 6th...not a bad deal

well....I still hope TS starts programming for S/C applications and other options like 370 injectors....z32 maf etc...like the JWT does...cause if they offer that too, I will definitely go with TS (which I have right now N/A program w/ stock rev limit) when I S/C....instead of the JWT due to the fact that I can drive to them and have it all done in an hour which is what I did previously....

I think everyone missed the fact that only the introductory price will be $400. After that it will be $595 just like the JWT. So if you're going to do this now is the time. Unfortunately we haven't heard back if it can be switched to 7500 rpms.

Without upgraded vavletrain, you don't want to rev really high. Anyone have dyno's of it with 7500rpm? There is no point to rev that high unless you are making power up there(00vi)

i have jwt ecu and my boy has the ts ecu and my car is a 975spd and his car is a 96 auto with 18inch mila milgla on and from a stop he was with first until a hit second and streched it to 7500 rpm were i pulled a little in front of him. but in when i hit third i didn't leave him by much he was almost right next to me. i have jwt intake and full exhaust and he had only a franken car intake and cat back apexi exhaust and he was right there next to me. i was shocked that the ts ecu was that good, but i want try to run again but this time on the top end on the high way to see what will happen. Good thing my girl friend bought me the jwt ecu as a surprise birth gift bc if i d bought i ve would have been very upset to waste two months and 1300 for the ecu and core charge of 700 bucks .

You will run SUPER Rich and probably not even be able to go around the block....also the S/C ECU programms retard timing a tad so starting the car and running it wihtout and extra air going in, prob wont run.

You will prob foul out spark plugs, O2 sensors...yada yada yada

the boosted program is simply more rich and less aggressive timing...so your car just won't be the fastest N/A as it could be....
it wouldn't be terrible....

if I recall, the JWT s/c program targets 12.5:1 afr throughout the powerband and does a really good job of hitting and maintaining it...according to the dynoes....so 12.5:1 wouldn't soo bad N/A....my car hit something like 13.6 or 13.8 in the top end....with the TS N/A ecu without the new rev limiter....
remember the JWT ecu is still an ecu, meaning it still uses input from O2 sensors and the maf primarily to adjust afr....so it would detect you craming a whole lot less air in...so it wouldn't dump nearly as much fuel...

Great news!!!! I was about to hop on the JWT group deal but I'd much rather give my money to TechnoSquare, as their customer service doesn't suck the fatty.

If they can raise the rev limiter, I see no reason they couldn't make it whatever you request. As long as you sign the waiver I'm sure they'll make it as high as you want. As for the supercharger/turbo program, I'd be willing to bet that if someone local goes there for some dyno tuning they can come up with a program for that too.

What do you mean by that?
They cannot modify the 98 ecu but you can buy a 96 ecu for $100 and run it in your 98. I have had one in mine for about 3 weeks now.
Move one wire on the ecu harness and change the rear O2 sensor and you will be code free.
