locked out HELP!!!!!
Get a wire coathanger and a flat screwdriver or something comparable to pry with.
Make like a "J" hook on the end of the coathanger.
Squeeze the coathanger into the car where the two door pillars meet and go horizontally into the car. Do not come down vertically from the top of the door.
Your goal is to hook the "J" onto the nub where you would MANUALLY release the door lock, NOT the power door lock button.
Once you've got the "J" on pretty good, give it a quick yank, again horizontally towards the rear of the car.
This may take some time bending the coathanger just right, but you'll get it with persistence. Someone looking into the car from the passenger side helps and someone holding the door pryed open a little helps too. Careful not to scratch the paint but this may inevitably happen a little.

I've seen a couple of locksmiths a couple of times do this. One of these times it was my Dad's car. It only took the guy a few moments to unlock the car with the bar that they use. I looked at my dad shook my head and smiled.
I've seen "locksmiths" do their work, and I've seen some that don't use any special tools. On ebay there's a buncha stuff that supposedly works.
So if a locksmith and I have the same tools, what's his technique? Is it the same as Igobuk's method? Or does it involve going into the body of the door between the window and the door?

Locksmiths usually have a small square... the square is made up of two plastic squares about 3" squared... and an inflatable balloon center. They will insert this thin piece of plastic where I suggested the door be pryed open in most cars (some will require to be opened vertically coming down from the top, depends on the car) and inflate the balloon which will in turn pry the door open and hold it open giving him room to work. It won't scratch the car at all and once inflated will stay that way until the air is released. Then he'll just insert a hook appropriate for the car's lock system, for the Max he may use a "J" hook and go for the MANUAL nub... for a Honda Odyssey he'll have to come down vertically and go for the POWER door lock switch, all cars will have their own way of being opened.
So basically, he can pry the door open much more easily, all by himself and cause ZERO damage as where my method might leave a few, very tiny "memories" behind and you might need an extra person to hold the door pryed open as you fumble with the coathanger.
