problems with aut tranny

i am wondering if anyone else has major problems with their auto trany. i think most of it is the shop i am taking it to, but my car has been in the shop 4 times in 4 weeks and is going back on monday because something else is messed up. i had it rebuilt, then it has gone through two valvebodies, and the rear end gear, and now it seems like it doesn't hold pressure, and at wot runs it banks off the limiter three or four times before it shifts. it's really pissing me off. just wondering if anyone else has had near as much trouble as me.

How many miles were on your tranny before the rebuild? I am at 143k and still doing good. I did have a scare about 4 years ago. My shifter was broken, and I usually rest my hand on it. One day I took a sharp turn and leaned on the shifter some, threw it in reverse accidentaly, and was pretty worried. The car actually just turned off, I coasted to the side, and restarted it. Good thing Nissan put in that feature. I hope the shop gets it right this time. My sister's boyfried had a similar situation. Eventhouhg they kept fixing it, he said it was a pain not having the car working preperly.

i blew and fried my tranny good. that shiit was pouring oil, ive never seen so much oil in my life. that **** was smoking alot too. my auto tranny went out on me at 70k miles. a nissan engineer told me the tranny's for autos are too weak for the maixima. he said the key to having a maxima tranny lasting long is a nice tranny cooler. as you can see, all american cars have huge tranny coolers. the max has some bull****, thats y american cars dont have as much tranny problems

I'm figuring the shop you took it to has no idea what they are doing. I think everyone has gone through something like that. Have something fixed, then it goes again, so you bring it back, and they tell you something else is wrong....it's the shop for sure. No way in hell are they gonna tell you, they did something wrong. Take it to a dealer and have them look at it. They will tell you if the shop did something wrong. Even though I hate dealers, they are good for something like that. I had the dealer redo the work for me, and with the paper work from the dealer, took the shop to small claims court and had them pay for everything. Good luck man.

the car had 127,000 miles and they did admit that the first time they rebuilt it they rushed the job. we have changed out valvebodies and last week they changed the diff in as well, mine was sending shavings throughout the tranny, they told me this was do to burnouts. i could see how that would happen, but i can't figure out why my valvebodies keep going out. i don't have enough mods to destroy the tranny, all i have is a cai and 2.5" custom exhaust system, i guess i will see what happens on monday. thanks for your input
