CEL: Vehicle Speed Sensor 0104>

I am getting 2 codes. 0104 and the 0304. Can anyone explain what could cause the 0104 code? I noticed it first came up when i had my TS ECU in the car but after i swapped back my '97 ECU, the code is still there but the rear 02 Oxygen sensor code went away. Also I never got this code before I had my tranny dropped for the new clutch and flywheel if that has anything to do with this.I did get the codes cleared but still had my TS ECU on the car than switched over so the TS ECU may have triggered it again. I don't know for sure. Thanks for any input...

The speed sensor code is weird since mine popped up twice already, every month or so, for no apparent reason. All it means is that the sensor sent a NOT MOVING signal to the car even though you were driving. I reset it and it hasn't came back. I got a ne harness and it came up still but a reset solved it. I wouldn't worry about it unless it comes up all the time and doesn't go away. If that's the case get a new one, $30 tops and 15 minutes of your time.

It's not important that you fix it right away, I've had that 0104 code for a good three months now, and I already bought a vehicle speed sensor (for $32, not bad). All it does is make your cruise control work consistently... My cruise control works only sometimes since the code came up, it's kind of annoying

I'd replace it, but I can't remove the original one for the life of me! I tried using a screwdriver to pry it off (with what little room I have down there), only to break some of its pieces off, and then I tried to pull it off the transaxle with every last ounce of strength, but it wouldn't budge... Any suggestions?? I think I'm just going to take it to a shop and see what they can do...

I have the exact same two codes. The knock sensor we all know is infamous. The speed sensor I figured was for my speedometer, odometer and maybe my cruise control. Everything works.

I reset my ECU every 6 weeks or so when it pops up. I wouldn't worry about it.

I also get the same thing. Intermittent cruise control usage. It turns off sometimes by itself. Thanks for clearing it up for me.
