Automatic climate control lights?

I have a auto climate control [digital one] and none of the buttons light up, the didgital dipspaly lights fine but none of the buttons. Is this the way it is suppose to be? It's a pain trying to figure out what buttons do what when its dark.

you can bulb these bulbs that you plug in from Nissan for about $8 a piece. There are four bulbs. OR you can look in the how-to's and solder some leds in there. Took me a while to get myself to do it, but got it done and it looks great. You can buy led's with resistors cheap from ebay seller: cwithk

Do you know waht # bulbs they are, maybe i can get them online. I checked the haynes manual but found nothing.I really don't want to mess with led's and solder.

I never found them, but found one slightly larger from a hole-in-the-wall shop in Kansas. I would say it worked great, but turns out last week it went out (lasted about 8 months).

So my question is... are these LED mods really bright? I'd like something that looks pretty uniform with everything else on the panel. And when you adjust the dimmer, do the LEDs dim, or to they remain at a constant intensity? Some of the pics I've sen of this mod looks really bright at night.

Thanks

Mike

very bright and sharp. looks like the speedometer gauges in the lexus, and now even the hondas have them. So if you're going to do the leds, and you have uniformity in mind, you'd have to do all of them, which is just an all day project. not too bad, everything is held on by a couple screws and clips. bulbs? the smallest i can think of are the #74 bulbs, but I've never seen them in person. the original gauge bulbs are a little bigger than 3mm; i'd say around 4mm. good luck.

edit:: oh yea, the dimming feature? It depends where you tap in your led's, you can tap into the dimmer wires and use the dimming feature, but when you see the leds, youll want them on all the time, even during the day
