Shocking question
Where is the best place (cheapest?) to get Tokico shocks/struts? I'm torn between the HP Series or Illumina. In either case - Stillen sells them - but someone has to be cheaper out there. What are you guys paying for 4?

I'm the one who's running the GD. I really wanted to get this second run going because $408 is the cheapest I've seen them (even compared to ebay). There are also several happy buyers from this vendor from the first GD so buy with confidence. If you decide you want tokico springs then ebay is certainly the way to go, but if you want another spring then jump on the GD.

[QUOTE=Terran]How long have you had 'em? They're going to blow much faster than on stock springs or struts made for lowering.QUOTE]
I think this spring was when I had them put in. Feels good to me. What's the expected life span of these struts? If they blow I'll grab the illuminas then I guess

I think maxmods says 5k-20k. As said above they are basically stock replacement. They could also already be blown...I think it may happen kinda gradually so you don't really notice until you've fixed 'em. Does the car keep bouncing after you go over a bump? You can also try pushing down on each corner of the car and let it come back up...I'm not exactly sure how fast the car should stop bouncing, but probably pretty fast since just pushing down on the car really isn't much force to be damped by the suspension.

No, it don't keep bouncing...not yet. Seems really good still...haven't noticed anything abnormal. Do you happen to know where you heard this? If you can post the link to it, I'll check it out. So far no complaints with this setup, and I drive this bish hard too.

I forgot to mention...tokico matched the set up for me. They sent me matching springs with the shock and strut set. As far as I see...the only diff between illuminas and the hp's...is adjustment. The illuminas have adjustment...the hp's don't. I don't think they would sell me the set if a part of it was gonna shizz itself early...like I said, it's been 2 seasons of driving the hell out of it. Still feels as solid as ever.
Like said before, the HP are stock replacements. Not the exact same thing even though our stock struts are tokico as well. Illuminas are a much better strut than the HP which weren't designed for aftermarket springs like the illuminas. No matter what both will probably blow on you if you drive like a maniac all the time. There have been people with the illuminas leaking as well but they were probably lowered with sprint or intrax springs.
I bought mine from Stillen for about $480. Worth the extra cost for easy warranty replacement.
Speaking of replacement, I may need to swap mine soon. Now that the weather's getting cold, my front left strut sucks till it warms up. I've only had these struts for 8 months, about 20k miles.
