Satisfied Ceramic - Checker/Kragen Auto - Any Good?
Hey y'all.
Today, I went ahead and did my brakes. Had some uneven front pad wear (on one side, outer pad went down to metal, inner pad 3mm low but not exhausted), so I figure I'd replace both calipers and pads, and skin my rotors.
Anyway, went to checker, and bought some calipers ($39 ea/LLT), and some pads. Well, they say first off, that that don't replace pads anymore for life....but the pad is warrantied for life against mfg defects. Is this normal? I always remember 'em replacing pads for life. Now they say they only warranty the pad if it falls apart, for life...not wear.
Anyway, the real question is...I got some "Satisfied Ceramic" pads (29 or $28). I wanted to go with the Raybestos Semi-metallic QS initially ($28 or $29), since I saw them on-line, but didn't see them when I went into the store. So I just got 'em (satisfied ceramic). They look like semi-metallic pads, with specs of orange in 'em (ceramic looking I guess). Are these pads any good? Should I worry? I have to mention, the reason I liked 'em was because of the fancy box...best looking brake pad box I've ever seen, and only for 29 bucks.
They wanted like $60 for raybestos ceramic, but I figure I could get OEM for that price.
