crank engine for 5 seconds

crank engine for 5 seconds

how do you crank the engine, just start the engine and leave it for 5 seconds or hold the key in ignition position for 5 seconds, sorry for stupid question, i am noob, thanks!

Well, once you have the fuse removed, try and start your car. Turn the key all the way as if you wanted to start the car for 5 seconds. You'll hear your car try to start but it won't because the fuse for the pump is removed and therefore the engine isn't getting any fuel. So what's supposed to happen is the fuel lines lose pressure as the engine sucks the last bits of fuel out of them and since the pump isn't pushing any more fuel to the engine, the system just fills with air.

Once you change the filter and put the fuse back on, your pump will be working again. Crank the engine and the car will once again start. It may take a few tries as the fuel system has to re-fill with fuel.

it says crank...so it means try starting it for at least 5 secs.
