knock sensor installed *FAILED* help!!
i tried using a rachet with extension and sviwel hooked on to a 12mm socket and i couldnt unscrew the bolt.....not enough room and also i dint wanna force it to screw off.....i dint want to strip or break off the bolt holdin the KS.....besides that i Surprisingly got my hand in there with my 12mm wrench in there but i couldnt unscrew off the bolt either.....there is just not enough room for go counterclockwise.....
any suggestions??? please help.....
PS...my right hand is pretty beat to S H I T!!! bleed all over....not cool!

I think an effective technique to breaking difficult bolts is to after driving spray with WD-40 so it can soak up the WD-40 while its still rather warm, and try to break it while it was warm, so the metal has expanded some and shouldnt be as difficult as if it was dead cold.
let us know how it goes, my brother just got the dreaded 0304 code, so I'll have to do this work on his car too.
he hasnt experience any bad gas milage yet and he has a bad o2 (downstream), well the code is gone now

the problem is that you were using a universal with a 12mm, you're supposed to use a 12mm swivel, it gives you the sharpest angle in which you can turn the bolt normally, trust me, after an hour and a half of fiddling with it, i decided to goto sears and follow www.motorvate.ca directions completely, which included a 12mm swivel...it dindt say anthinga bout a 12mm with a flex socket attached. the flex with 12mm will increase the height by about 1/4" and youw ont get proper grip on the bolt.

woulndt make a big difference in his case because i doubt the socket is fitting snug on the bolt. it would be better if he did it cool othewrise he'd burn his hands if the car was fairly warm.

lol the problem is that u have no muscle in ur arms lol, how on earth did u fit ur hand in there my god, i cant even get my forearm in geez. but anywayz take the airbox completely out that will help and make sure u put the swivel as close to the bit ur using as possible. also have it so the angle on the swivel is a close to 90 as possible then just give it hell and it will come off. thats what i did (like 3 times)

seriously, buy the $7 12mm swivel from sears. itll make it a 15 minute job, if i were to do it again i could rpobalby do it in 10 or less. i tried to do it with the 12mm attached to a swivel and i wsted an hour and a half. i went to sears grabbed it and it took me 25 minutes, most of it was trying to get the bolt back into the sensor, but i had it out in about a minute and some change

I need to do this as well 'dreaded 0304" code, tell me how it goes when you get the 12mm swivel from sear. As motorvate wrote, it is very important to get this tool, makes the job alot easier.

well i decided to try to install it again....and this time i got it....rachet...extension and 12mm sviwel....the hardest part was tryin to screw the new knock sensor back on....

You will want to get a mangetic wand, craftsman $7 worth every penny... you can aline the hole for the knock sensor.... also I bought gear wrenches with a pivoting head, then used pilers and wire wrapped to a regular wrench for extra reach. Presoaked w PB blaster. Use a box fan to cool the intake manifold, but underneath will still be hot (expanded) still be careful not to cut hand. I have a scar from putting my hand in... it was swollen that's why I did the above

I just changed my knock sensor out. Pretty simple job. Took me 20 min and most of that time was trying to find someone with small enough hands to reach in there. I tried to desperately stick my hand in there and couldn't even get half of it in there. I don't know how you got yours in there JLiusifer.... Unless your a gal. 
j/k. But if i could get my hand to fit in there, it would have been a 5 min job max... I didn't know much to torque the bolt so i hope i didn't do it too tight or loose.
