Code 0702: Three-way catalyst (right bank)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I pulled CEL code 0702 - the scanner said, "Catalyst efficiency below threshold (bank 1)". Looking at the stickys, it could possibly have something to do with spark plugs, or ignition timing. I mention those 2 because about 10k miles ago, I replaced the spark plugs and fuel filter with original nissan parts, and 6k miles ago, I had the knock sensor code, and also code 0201 (Ignition Signal Circuit). I changed the KS and all 6 coils. Made a world of difference - no hesitation, no rough idle - just smooth, quick response (like a Maxima should be).
The CEL has not flashed at all this time (it did every once in a while 6k miles ago when I needed to change the coils). The car still runs as if nothing is wrong. My questions are: Could my previous fixes have anything to do with this code? Has anyone else experienced this code (0702)? If anyone knows, what's the most likely reason for this? I have 134k on my Max.
Sorry it's so long, and again, any help would be appreciated. Thanks much in advance.

I have (knock on wood) never gotten that code but it is known that some faulty farts can trigger a code for something else also that doesnt need changing.
The KS is known the trip o2 codes, and I'm guessing it tripped a cat code also, and its been 6K so the Light would have came back on if the part truely was in need of replacement.

i've had that code. came up 3 times since i got the car. been driving for 1500 since the last time and nothing. but im stil pretty sure the knock code is still there. I tried having the front o2 sensor changed, but there is absolutely no room to work with. I recently found out my car is a cali spec.. damn them.. DAMN THEM..
moral of the story: drive it.. test it for codes, most likely youll get a knock like me

I had that code a while back and reset my CEL and hasn't shown up since, checked it a couple of times and no ghost codes either. From what I remember when I searched for this, i asked around the org also, I was told sometimes, if you have aftermarket exhaust y, B pipe and cruise at high highway speeds for a while that code can come up. Somehow the Cat doesn't store enough oxygen cruising at that high speed for extended period of time and will trip the CEL. Not necessarily anything wrong with the car.
Then again there could be a number of things causing it also, check the stickies, they explain some of the reasons.

I recently got this too, 99-cali spec w/ 93k miles. I reset it about 500 miles ago and it hasn't came back. I went ahead and changed my spark plugs tho as it had been about 50k miles. Wondering if the knock sensor is going bad.. all the O2 and the KS are still stock.

I got this code too. I have a '99 SE 5 speed with 120k miles on it. I reset it and after about a week it came back. Any other ideas?? Is the cat going bad?? I have an emissions check here in PA where they just hook your car up to a computer and it basically just checks to make sure your emissions stuff is working. Well this will fail it big time. I just got this car, this is wrong with it plus it won't start most of the time (starter just grinds horribly, I assume its bad). Would like to fix this before its due for inspection. From posts here I may have to change the cat, O2 sensors, knock sensors........maybe all of them until I find what's wrong. Bummer.

It came back on this past Saturday (11/13). This past Tuesday, I drove to LA from Oakland and back...bout 800 miles on the round trip. When I got in it Wednesday morning, CEL didn't light up, and I scanned it - no code. I'll need a smog before February...maybe I should have it smogged now and hope it passes...
