HKS, Apexi, or Tanabe

Does anyone have any of these mufflers on their maxima? If so, do they sound too ricey or too deep? I'm trying to figure out which one i should get.

I've got an Apexi WS and a JWT Popcharger. I installed them both at the same time so its tough to tell what the Apexi sounds like alone. With both installed though, my Max has a good growl to it when I'm on the gas, and a low pitched, soft humm when cruising. Definitely not ricey (as in it doesn't sound like an overpowered wheed-whacker) at all. Never had anyone say anything but good things on the way it sounds.

I'm gonna have to agree with Phaeton on this...Apexi is a great catback to get. One of the quietest catbacks that you can buy. I have the same setup and love it. When you are a highway speeds you'll almost think that you don't have a performance catback, it's that quiet.

i have a buddy with a tanabe racing medallion muffler w/ a resonated wsp b-pipe and it sound amazing...not too loud because it's resonated but it really sound smooth and throaty. you can find knock offs on ebay that will do the same job and sound just as good though. My other buddy has a knock off straight through similar to the racing medallion and it sounds great too.

I have an Injen "HAI", cattman y-pipe, busted cat and APEX'i catback. Nice combo. Not as quiet as I'd like (but I think it's because my cat is like a straight pipe). Before the y-pipe is sounded great with just a little growl. Now it sounds real aggressive at WOT and when I open it up with people in the car they say it sounds basa$$.
