1997 Maxima won't start
Greetings!!! I'm a newbie and I'm glad I found this forum.
I was wondering if any of the max experts here can help me out. My Max will not start this evening and everytime I try to start it, I just hear several clicking sounds that is coming under the hood. I, then, popped the hood open and checked the battery cables.
When I fiddled with one of the batter terminal cable, it came loose so I re-attached it again. A neighbor jump started the car and it worked. I left the car running for awhile but didn't drive it. After turning it off, I tried re-starting it again after 5 minutes and the car wouldn't start.
Could it be the alternator? Thanks guys.

Might be the alternator that cant charge up the battery or... it sounds like the battery cant hold down its charge. Clean the terminals and put them on tight and see what happens. Check to see if the battery is leaking anywhere. If not go to a shop and have them check your alternator and battery to see if the alternator is putting out the correct amount of voltage and the battery is holding its charge.
to everything he said... you don't state the year of the car or any history of battery replacement.. but if the battery is more than 3-4 years old, it is most probably your battery that is dead.
