It is GXE, SE, GLE. . . Although the SE and GLE are avail. with pretty much the same options, just different suspensions. So a SE and GLE can run about the same even though they are 2 different trims.

GXE, the base, with a limited number of options. Auto or 5 Speed.
SE, middle of the road, but comes with foglights, spoiler, white faced guages and harder suspension. Auto or 5 speed.
GLE, top of the line, comes standard w/ sunroof, Auto Climate Control, leather, Bose Sound System and that really cool push out drawer. Auto only.

However, I believe that you can option a SE with everything that the GLK comes with standard.

SE all the way

Get an SE. I've had more compliments from those white-faced gages. :-) The spoiler and better suspension are cool too. 5 speed's the best part, though.

We're not auto hating, we're simply stating the truth. Yes, the engine is the best part, but when it's teamed with a slushbox, it's not going to rev as freely and it's not going to accelerate as quickly. With a 5 spd, you can really understand what Road and Track meant about the VQ when they said it "Revs like no other engine this side of a V8 Ferrari.." It's the truth, sorry.

Most deff on the SE..mine came with leather and a sunroof and door handles the same color as the car...they also come with the best stock wheels...beats the others with the chrome door handles and no spoiler....SE has the best if it is with leather.

Hmmmm. not trying to hate on anyone or anything, but SE is the only one I would even consider getting
Nissan knows what it up because they made an SE, compare the SE max to any other car in it's class, it simply is not comparable, I pulled up to a 1997 Camery V6 the one with the spoiler that I guess would be the sporty model and I thought to my self- what self respecting consumer would ever consider getting anything other than the Maxima SE auto or not I don't care the Max SE is just one of the best looking automobiles on the planet hands down for the money it could not be beat, even my old a$$ dad who can only buy from the Infiniti Dealer because they are palls and he gets the hook up he said that if his friend owned the Nissan dealer ship he would trade in his brand new $45,000 QX4 on a 2001 20th AE Maxima SE 5-speed. Simply because the Max is one of the best cars on the market. My dad may be old but he still knows what is up on the cars, and really not to brag but he could buy any car he wanted (cause he works his a$$ off) and I know that he would pic the MAX over just about anything other than a Porsche or Ferrari and of course the new Q45. and as far as SE or GXE or GLE, they only make the AE in the SE model you never hear of a 20th AE GXE or GLE. But that is just my opinion
