HELP! Installed CAI and car won't start

Installed my CAI today, and after I put it in I started her up no prob, as soon as i hit the gas she bogs out. So. I dosconnected the battery for about 10 min, and checked the MAF sensor, then tried again, and no start. I disconnected the sensoer by unscrewing the 4 screws that hold it in, and there are 3 metal prongs coming from the sensor. Are they supposed to go in the holes on the piece inside of the MAF? I need some advice she wont even start now.

I don't think a disconnected or a bad MAF prevents starting does it? Try to disconnect the MAF completely and see if the car starts.. if it does, then you've most likely damaged the MAF. Don't look for a new replacement - they run around 400 bucks...You should be able to find one for 50-80 bucks in the classifieds forum here.

check you electrical plugs. make sure "all" the plugs are plugged in tight. when i did mine, the maf sensor plug was loose, i had the same problem you got. then after pluging it tight, it's all good.

OK i got it running, it was a fuse keeping it from starting. It starts right up, but if i give it any gas it bogs out....

there appear to be sensors that they are supposed to be in contact with. I positioned the prongs so they would touch, and I'm gonn let it sit overnight with the battery off.

If it starts, and you rev it and boggs down and turns off its your MAF. Either you broke it.. or 2... you broke it.. Cant think of anything else sorry..

there is possibly a hose leak somewhere, for our max's you cannot be driving the car having any leak in the intake piping section. if there is any leakage, the car will want to bog and shut down. make sure you really tighten up everything.

I fixed it, I fixed it, I, I, I fixed it! Neener Neener Neener!!! I tweaked the prongs on the MAF further upward to esnure a SOLID connection, and she's mint now! Sounds great, plus some extra ponies which is nice!! I just hope it holds up and that sensor doesn't go screwy on me.
