Shock sensor intall help on 1996

I have been trying for about 2.5 hours to intall my shock sensor on my 96 SE. I followed the directions on vqpower.com like it said. Power to pink, ground to black, and signal wire of sensor to yellow with black tracer. The sensor is getting power because the light lights up when it senses it, but it is not activating the alarm. Could someone please help me. Thanks.

Well seems like you have it wired correctly.

In order to test it, you have to turn your alarm ON. You'll notice the security light come on STEADY for about 30 seconds, then it will start blinking. When it starts blinking is when you can test your sensor, not before the blinking.

Hope this helps.

So the light comes on? I thought the directions said the alarm would sound for 30 seconds then it would blink? I will try this, thanks. Whats your aim unless I need more help?

press lock.... wait until your security light stops glowing and starts blinking. that is when your alarm is actually activated. then give your car a firm hit and see if that sets off the shock sensor.

Thanks guys. I got it working. I probably wasted about an hour of my life trying different wiring. I will set the sensitivity tomorrow. Thanks again.

any local audio/security store. Many online places too. Get a name brand such as DEI.

Yes it should. You just have to tap into a few wires. Here is the write-up for it. I got mine off ebay, not sure if the brand matters or not.

You brought up a 5 year old thread for that? There's no need to resurrect multiple extremely old threads.
