KS Ready to Come Out

OK, went to Sears and bought the 12mm and 10" extension. Today I pulled apart the air intake to the throttle body. Cleaned the throttle body, real dirty, and tried the tool setup. I was able to put the 12mm on the KS, got really excited, but I was unable to turn the drive. Need a little help with how I should position the 3/8 driver so that I can turn it without causing a problem. Putting the KS back should not be a problem. Any suggestions? So far the group has been RIGHT ON with the tools. Man, and to think that the Nissan dealer wanted BIG BUCKS to do this.

TIA,
Paul

I used those tools that you have and the motorvate instructions, and could not get the bold loose for some reason. I ended up getting a ratchet wrench from sears and got it no problem.

Did you buy a regular 12mm or a 12mm swivel-socket? You need the swivel to get the socket to really make good contact with the bolt (so you can get enough torque to break it loose).

i use a 12mm shallow with a 3/8" drive ratchet, about 8" long. I then use a flat head wedged between the block and ratchet to break the bolt free, like a pry bar. Works every time.

Yes, I have the 12mm swivel socket setup. Need some help with this!!

glass88jaw, what does this ratchet wrench from sears look like? Is it long enough to get into this tight spot and still allow you to turn it? Oh, and by the way she's a 97 Max. car runs great. I tend to check the codes acout twice to three times a year and saw the KS code. Haven't taken the KS out just trying to see if I can. I am going to order the KS this week and change it next week end. Can anyone out there help!! Need to know what is best way to turn 3/8" drive.

Thanks......
