Antifreeze bursting out of somewhere

I recently smelled antifreeze when my car was running. I opened the hood and it was all over the place. I thought it was my radiator but I don't know. I added some water and the next time I drove it there was even more it was on the hood and on the motor. What do you think it is? Is type of overflow that could make it burst out? I hope it isn't the headgasget. How could I check if it was either the radiator or gasget?

Yea, defintely having that exact problem right now. There was a crack in the top of the radiator, which cause the antifreeze to spray EVERYWHERE.

I tried JB Weld, which didn't help. So i just put the $200 down and got a new one from Autozone. I'm changing them tomorrow.

It was my top hose. I changed it last night. A lot cheaper than getting a radiator. I think I need a radiator to at some point but I am not sure. How can I test my radiator to see if it has anything stuck in it?

You're lucky about the hose. But yea, you'll ahve to take the radiator out to see if anything is stuck or not. Its easy though, don't get discouraged. Just a few screws and hoses.

Let us know how it goes.

yeah i keep some jbweld WET in my car for just such an occasion because the plastic case on the maxima tends to crack for some reason. i had it happen to me and it got me home. i then ordered a new radiator off ebay for 76 shipped to my door. worked great.
