Adjustable Versus Non Adjustable Shock/Struts?
im planning on getting eibach pro springs but cant decide whether to get adjustable or non adjustable shocks. im not looking to be racing but just a sporty ride. theres obviously a price difference but is there a great difference in terms of performance??? thanks

The main advantage with the adjustables for a street car is that you can tune your shocks to work well with your springs. Once you find a setting you think is optimal, you can leave them alone.
We are not talking about trying to make the Maxima a sports car, but tuning the ride/handling balance so the car feels more stable and well-planted in everyday enthusiastic driving. IMHO, the Illuminas or Konis are well worth the extra cost if you value a well-controlled ride.

so is the non adjustable shocks equvalent to setting number 3 of the adjustable shocks. and then i have either 4 or 5 to upgrade too if i want it stiffer???
does anyone have non adjustable shocks with aftermarket springs and find it a sporty ride??? or does it need to be stiffer??? thanks.

Stock or cheap shocks on aftermarket springs will actually handle worse a stock suspension, due to the rebounding and bottoming out from the shocks being unable to control the stiffer springs. That improved area in the adjustment is where you want to be. Recommended starting settings are shown for each shock, feel free to start from there, and adjust to your spring.
