Problems with inspection

My mechanic said that I barely passed a NYS inspection. He said I would need something called carbon cleaning. Has anyone heard of this?

He says it would make my car a little more fuel efficient. I'm hesitant if this is true and if it is worth $150.

My mechanic is pretty honest, just that I've never heard of this procedure...anyone care to shed some light on this?

nothing you can't do with a bit of Seafoam yourself. just get the can from an autoparts dealer and pour 1/3 of it in the line going from the intake manifold to the brake booster.

Hmm, carbon cleaning with machine I assume... Seafoam does a pretty good job, and its $5.. Not the solution for everything but it might help you out some...
