Stock B-Pipe outer shell?
Hey all... a few weeks ago, the "shell" sort of thing that surrounds the B-Pipe (heat shield maybe?) fell off. Hopefully everyone knows what I am talking about. Should I go in and get someone to put a new shell on it? Winter is coming soon and I don't want to be screwed... or will I be OK without the shell thingy? Let me know!
Oh also, I have noticed that my muffler moves around quite a bit when i drive (like up and down) whenever I hit a bump. Does everyone's do this, or is something that isn't right with my car? The muffler is only held up by the rubber things (again, tell me if you dont know what im talking about). Anyways, is there any way to fix this also?
Thanks a lot for your help!

yea the muffler bangs whenever i go over a large bump, but my muffler is very heavy... i have an apexi dunk muffler
also, with the winter coming, did the heat shield help with rusting? i dont want my b pipe to rust away this winter with all the salt and stuff.

I would say the heat shielding definitely helps protect the B from rusting. My heat shields mostly rusted off but the B just has surface rust, not rusted through. If you don't want to get an aftermarket B or catback, definitely get new heat shields before salt season (you could probably make them super cheaply yourself or just go to an exhaust shop...don't bother with the dealer$hip).
If you plan on getting an aftermarket B or catback in the next year, don't bother and be sure to get a stainless steel catback.
