I hope your not planning to get 1157 LED bulbs... no one will be able to see you stopping from behind.

I'm still looking for someone to build me some real LED tail lights.. I'm willing to put up good money

 

You don't think that something like that would be bright enough? I was also thinking to put #?LED's bulbs in turn signals and revers lights, in front turn signals as well. http://superbrightleds.com/1157.htm

THats exactly what you DONT want, it wont light up the entire lens... all you will see is a small round red dot

Thats the right way to do it and what I want.. theres another guy in Cali with a white max with BEAUTIFUL LED tails... sigh my days of soldering and leds and resistors are gone... I hate computers now.

 

WORD OF CAUTION:

I recently purchased 2 bulbs. EAch bulb has 19 LEDS rated at 10000 mcd of brightness.

When you put these into your tailights....they look exactly the same as a regular bulb. I'm not sure why, but I know I waster $7 per bulb. These are the same bulbs sold on superbrightleds.com.

Just my word of caution. I think you can buy the 30leds per bulb one, but it is much larger and I'm not sure if it will fit in the taillight housing.

Also, If you are buying brake lights or rear turn signal lights, you should just get them in white. Because, the covers are already painted red/yellow. Adding more color to it does not mean it will be brighter.

I'm thinking of just buying superbright bulbs for the rear lights. I also tried cutting one of the little nubs off for more power....(*just like the corner light mod) and that still did nothing.

If anything, get the gen II altezzas.

LED bulbs of any kind are ONLY bright if looked at directly as in a clear housing... not even a frosted housing, a clear housing like diamond cut turn signals.

If you use them through a colored lens like the stock tail lights, etc. the light gets broken up, scattered, etc. as the lens was designed to do with regular bulbs... not LED's.

But if you were to use them in the turn signal portion of the Gen II's, the center of the outer rings, they would be as bright as the adjacent LED's because they'd be shining unobstructed.

LED's have very focused lighting and even the LED's that spread light only spread it enough to "fill in" the lens but won't really make it any brighter. You'll get a red lens with a little red circle in the middle instead of a dark burgandy lens with a little red circle in the middle.

Yea well thats great for him. But I like the front end of my auto . By the way if I wanted red/ clears I would have bought them but I paid way more money for Gen II's 200.00. They look so sweet when there lite up!!!

 

Get some 97 headlights to complete your deal, and I know I have spent alot more money than you on my ride, Tein S Tech Springs, KYB Adjustable struts, 18inch Katana Rims, with 235/ 40 wrapping them, Warpspeed Y pipe, custom bpipe and exhaust, Bomz cold air intake, Zex Kit, and Tranny cooler. Oh and yes I went there, oh by the way I'm sure I will blow the doors off your maxima. Don't about it either
