Cefiro Headlight Disappointed Me!

since the install i never really put the bulbs for the corner light in the actual housing, i finally decided to do it...i used the same bulb i had before in my old corner lamp, because i was told i could....so i did, i think they are 1157 bulbs....regardless, if i was informed that i could just put in my old 1157 bulbs, why the f*ck did it melt the houseing? the piece its supposed to reflect off of justmelted off on both sides....if i hadnt noticed it, i would have that piece loose in my cefiros just sliding around in the housing...im really pissed off cuz for the few hours i had it in, it looked really fuccin good, now wut do i do get bulbs from superbright leds? since they are cooler? and even then, how do i get that reflective piece back up, it melted down on both sides, so the bulb is half exposed....

Were you in on the cefiros for $190 deal? Those are the same cefiros I bought. I'm using the same orangle bulbs I had in my old lights, you've got me worried.

You probably wired them as parking lights on the high (27W) filament... If you would have used them with the normal lower 8W filament then it would have been fine.

RUNNING THE CEFIRO PARKING LIGHTS ON HIGH WATTAGE WILL MELT THE INNER CAP

** EDIT: you can use the higher filament as TURN SIGNALS without problems **

this has been in a bunch of threads about cefiro's.. don't run the corner lights with a nub cut off to make them brighter, it will melt that part of the housing..

I have the Cefiro's as well for about 3 months now and have not had this problem either. Hmmm Strange. Sorry to hear about that.

Yes mine started a while back when I first put mine on but mine had just bubbled in a few areas so I still cut off the nub but put them in regular, now they don't get brighter when I turn my blinker on so I am happy.

you can use the stock bulbs. From what it sounds like, you were running re-wired corner lights before the cefiros (cut the lower nub off the bulb, put it in backwards?).. you have to run the stock bulbs without cutting one of the nubs for the bulbs to not melt the housing..

the only wiring involved with cefiros were either to get the daytime running lights to work or to install the new H4 harness.

For the corner lamps, you just remove the harness w/ bulb in and all and fit it into the new cefiro. I know it isn't a perfect fit, b ut if you cut away a peice of the plastic harness, it goes in and locks without a problem.

either you are running the corners with the "brighter corner light" mod or the housing was built crappy, which i hope that's not the case.

i dont know, maybe my car had hte brighter corner light mod, but who knows, i just hookd up the two wires to the stubs on the cefiro socket and it lit up brighter than my silverstar headlights....they looked good as hell...now they r shot....even worse news....since some of it melted onto the bulb on the right side, when i tried to take the bulb out it broke, so now i have some broken glass in my corner light....wtf man....this shyt wasnt supposed to happen....

dang that sucks.. well now i know not to do the cornerlamp brighter mod on cefiro headlights. im using my original harness and wiring from my oe headlights and its working fine so far, no brighter-cornerlamp-mod thingy. it scuffed off a bit of plastic on the cefiro housing but it fits. good luck man.

I thought you could just put them back in no problem... only problem being cutting away at your fender.
