4th gen coil spring question...

I decided go back stock suspension('99). but there is some problem.
I dont know which one is right for driver and passinger side.
front oem spring have same part# so, they should be same.
But, rear springs are differant.(coil length & also part number. I guess tension too.) and they have some paint mark on the coil. i dont understand why rear springs have differant part#.
Does it mean someting?

please HELP me to figure it out!

The springs are the same, left and right. Make the 3 dots look like a triangle. One dot on top, two on the bottom. Thats the correct position for the front coils. The rears will only mount on the shock one way. The lower coil is wound slightly smaller and sits on the rear shock nice and snug. If you put the spring in upside down, it wount sit perfectly on the shock perch.

Be carefull compressing the front springs, they are a PITA to compress and get back onto the strut. A wall mounted spring compressor makes the job much easier. If you know a mechanic or auto parts store that has one, you might want to let them put the front springs in. Just show them how everything lines up.

Good luck!

Just kidding.

I've got to do this job myself in a few days, put some new struts on. Anyone have a good place to buy spring compressors? Sears? Lowes? Home Depot?

You can borrow them from AutoZone through their loaner tool system.
