I put a set of Monroe SensaTracs on my car. I'd say they are comparable to OEM, but they not performance struts.

They were what I wanted and I'm happy with them.

I'm partial to Monroe cuz my dad used to install them all the time @ Firestone. However, it's just personal preference with no hard evidence. Go with the cheaper one?

I would go with KYB, koni, or tokico. http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php?MaximaShocks

Shocks are not something to go really cheap.

How much are you getting the monroe or gabriel struts for? You can get KYB GR-2's (set of 4) off of ebay for less than $220 shipped. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33590
Either you install them yourself or pay someone else to do it. Just a suggestion.

You can use GR-2s and other struts with stock springs. People buy aftermarket springs to get rid of the wheel gap that's between the tire and the fender and to improve handling. Other info: http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php?MaximaSprings
