Assist with BOSE speakers
Hi, new user, first post, but I have viewed the forums several times. Here is my quandry:
Just purchased a '97 Nissan SE, has the BOSE speakers with an aftermarket Pioneer deck. Back speakers sounded blown, looked in the trunk and found only (1) speaker in the left side. I assume they are using a converter that allows an aftermarket deck to 'talk' to the BOSE speaks at the correct OHM level, my question is: Should look for a rear BOSE speaker to replace the missing one, or should I dump the BOSE and go with something standard? If I go standard on speaks, do I have to find and remove the converter?
Thanks!

ok you have a 2 options... well 3 if you wanted to replace the bose speakers... 1 you can replace all the speakers and run them off your head unit. you can replace the rear speakers.... you will need to wire around the converter if equipted for the rear speakers and keep the fronts ones running on the converter.... you may find that the car is wired ... with out a converter .... if there is no converter in the system you can just hook up new rear speakers..... I don't like to wire thru the bose system wires.. my car is rewired.... I kept the Bose speakers.... they are run by a 1ohm stable amp
