btw - on the way home from work last night i polished off metro. he got the jump on me off the line but he was no match for my 3rd gear. fear me.

 

Since you drive a 5spd you should have raced him from a dead stop starting off in 4th Gear

 

i actually tried that once but ended up stalling... hmm more practice perhaps?

you need to keep pressing the clutch and the gas vice versa untill you get rolling

 

Can't yout take off in fifth gear with a Maxima? I tried it in a 5 speed Galant, but could only do it in 4th gear, and man the car was unhappy.

 

i drove my 88 Mazda 626 Turbo from the suburbs of chicago back to michigan only in 5th. stopsigns and redlights arent fun, and yes, i destroyed my clutch in a matter of probably 5 minutes (only hurt it during stoplight acceleration, obviously it was just fine on the highway.)i was only 16 and my old mazda trans finally went out on me and wouldnt let me out of 5th gear no matter how hard i tried, it wasnt fun... it had 201K miles on it, still on the original turbocharger even.
