Hello all,

My 99 SE just started running very rough in idle, hesitating & jumping at normal acceleration, and only running somewhat smooth at high RPM (maybe masking the problem at those RPM's). Any ideas? Seems like one (or more) of the pistons are kicking in & out. I have no engine mods, and otherwise the cars' in great shape (98,000 miles). Any help would be appreciated.

 

Probably your ignition coils.

 

I've gone through that on my old Max. Would they fade in & out... or just fail totally?

 

Coils is a high probability. IACV possibly...?? EGR Valve..?

Before going into much of a panic and buying the previously mentioned expensive parts, I would replace the fuel filter and plugs if they are anywhere close to due.
