Yesterday I take my 99 Max SE with Bose in to the mechanic so they can figure out what is draining my battery. They figured it out, and about an hour ago I picked it up. On the way home I try to listen to my Sirius plug and play, and while the satellite radio worked, my radio turned on, no sound came out of the speaker. I tried get sound with it, even put in a CD, but to no avail. Took it back and they couldn't figure it out either, but said that it worked coming in, but not going out. So now I have two questions:
1) what do you think might be wrong with it?
2) Is there a separate amp with the Bose system? It sounds(no pun intended) like I blew the amp.
I need to know ASAP so I can have it fixed before I go to college Sunday, or at least know what it is and estimated cost so I can get a check from them to fix it at college. Thanks!!!

each speaker in the bose system has its own seperate amp... im not too sure about the maximas wiring and stuff but check fuses, also find out exactly what your mechanic did to the car maybe they wired something up wrong.

Thanks. They said they checked the fuses and they didn't do anything to the radio wiring; perhaps they should check again?Originally Posted by Sped

Thanks guys! It was an aftermarket alarm/remote starter that I think was the problem for the battery. It blew two of the mechanic's draw gizmos. They said they checked the fuses. Is there a certain fuse I should look for? To be specific, I can turn on the tape player, CD player, radio, etc., but sound does not come out of my speakers; not even a hiss...
